Can I use a serviced office address as my registered office address with ACRA?
Yes. ACRA requires a physical Singapore address that is accessible to the public, and a serviced office qualifies. At CoWorkSpace, members on a suite or a dedicated desk may use 6 Raffles Quay #16-01 once we have provided written consent.
What does ACRA require of a registered office address?
Section 142 of the Companies Act requires every Singapore company to maintain a local registered office. It must be a physical street address rather than a P.O. box, and it must be accessible to the public for at least three hours during business hours on each business day. Our reception is staffed from 8.30am to 6pm on weekdays, which comfortably exceeds that.
Can I use my home address instead?
You can, but with conditions. HDB flats and private residential properties fall under the Home Office Scheme, which limits the type of business, caps non-resident staff, and prohibits customer-facing activity. Your address also appears publicly on ACRA's register, which many founders would rather avoid.
Does my registered office address have to be where I actually work?
No. Your registered office and your place of operation can differ, provided the registered office meets ACRA's requirements. That said, an address where your team genuinely works removes questions before anyone asks them.
What happens if I change my registered office address later?
You must update ACRA within fourteen days of the change. Failing to keep the address current can attract penalties and, in serious cases, enforcement action.
Can I put the address on my website, invoices and business cards?
Yes, and you are in fact required to display your registered office address on business letters, invoices and your website.
Is a business address included with a coworking desk?
Yes. Dedicated desk members can use the 6 Raffles Quay address for registration and correspondence, on the same basis as suite members, once we have provided written consent.
What is the difference between a registered office address and a business address?
The registered office is the statutory address filed with ACRA where official notices are served. A business address is the wider term for the address you use commercially. At 6 Raffles Quay they are the same address.
How quickly can I start using the address?
As soon as your membership is confirmed and we have issued written consent. There is no waiting period beyond the paperwork.
